Friday Five [+ total body workout]

HAPPY FRIDAY, friends! For those of you following the 25 Days of Fitmas challenge, happy 7th day of Fitmas – you’ve made it through the first week! As promised, the third free workout of the week is below. Let’s finish this week with a good sweat and a little gratitude. Jot down 7 things you’re grateful for . . . GO!

Today, I’m sharing five of my most f a v o r i t e things with you! Some are health + fitness related, some are just for fun — and I use almost all of them daily.

1. Bulletproof Vanilla Collage Protein

I’ve searched long and hard for a protein powder that actually tastes good, and THIS is it. It is all-natural, contains collagen [an essential amino acid for a strong + healthy body], and can literally be added to anything. It makes a great shake, but I will also add it to my morning coffee . . . hello latte! I’m not a chocolate lover, but I’ve heard it’s also delish mixed with hot chocolate.

2. Hydrojug

This goes e v e r y w h e r e with me! It holds half a gallon of water, does NOT leak, and the handle makes it super easy to drink out of. Carrying it around reminds and motivates me to drink enough water [it’s a huge mind game for me], and my goal is to drink a full one every day. I have a cabinet FULL of water bottles, but this is the only one I ever use.

3. Adjustable Dumbbells

The BEST addition to my ‘home gym.’ If you like working out at home, or would like to be able to work out while traveling, you need these! You can easily change them out to weigh anywhere from 5 lbs to 35 lbs, and they come in a pack-and-go/easy-store set. Bonus: they’re super affordable.

4. Slow Cooker

If you don’t have one, you’re missing out. I use mine at least once a week, usually more. I love being able to throw just about anything in it and leaving it to turn into a meal. I love the way it makes my kitchen smell. I love how easy and effortless it makes meal prep. By far one of the most used items in my kitchen [second to the Keurig, of course]. This is the model I have, and I especially like that I can program the time and temperature I want it to cook on. ALSO, it has a ‘warm’ setting, so it will continue to keep your food warm when it’s finished cooking.

5. Native Body Wash

On my journey towards overall w e l l n e s s, I have been paying more attention to the ingredients in the things we use every day – from shampoo, to body wash, to lotion, to make up, to hairspray/dry shampoo, and everything in between. I realized that the ingredients lists are miles long, I don’t know what most of them are, and I can’t even pronounce many of them. This company, Native, is on a mission to create quality products WITHOUT the chemicals. They nailed it. This body wash smells wonderful, lathers well, and every single ingredient is listed in simple terms on the bottle. It is safe AND effective . . . win, win.
