Starting the new week off with a NEW upper body Fitmas workout! Details below . . . give it a try.
TRUTH: Progress is my biggest motivator. Just the slightest improvement gets me so excited to keep going. I couldn’t tell you the last time I weighed myself, but I can tell you exactly when I could do just one more push-up, or when I added another plate to my back squat.
The scale can be deceiving, especially when you’re strength training, because you’re working towards gaining lean muscle mass. Essentially, you’re burning fat and replacing it with lean muscle. Your body composition is changing, but the numbers on the scale might not be. Don’t be discouraged! Focus on the way you F E E L. Some days, ‘progress’ is my pants fitting better – other days, it’s an extra push-up. Progress is a powerful motivator, and it shows up in so many different ways if you’re willing to look beyond the scale. Be willing to look beyond the scale.
This week, I challenge you to start a note in your phone for any and all non-scale victories you achieve, and jot them down as they happen. I’m cheering for you!
